Panic disorder is a specific type of anxiety disorder that features frequent panic attacks that generally don’t have a known trigger. These attacks happen without warning and aren’t caused by a physical condition or another mental health condition.
While a single panic attack or even occasional attacks may be concerning, it can be perfectly normal to experience one when facing something stressful. Panic disorder is when panic attacks happen often and unexpectedly, along with behavioral changes that negatively impact your daily life.
No matter which part of Seattle or Washington you live in, Owens Mental Health makes accessing treatment for panic disorder easy. In-person and telehealth treatment options give you the freedom and flexibility to meet with a caring, compassionate mental health professional in the office or from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Washington State mandates some in-person appointments for patients taking a controlled substance. We will discuss this during your sessions.
There’s no cure for panic disorder, so treatment focuses on managing symptoms. Owens Mental Health will take the time to understand your needs and create a personalized treatment plan that addresses your concerns. We will:

Treatment focuses on minimizing and hopefully eliminating panic attacks. Unlike other anxiety disorders, where clients experience anxiety on a daily basis, panic attacks come and go, and many panic disorder patients don’t have anxiety daily. Sometimes clients require occasional medication for panic attacks in addition to a daily medication that aims at preventing them from happening.
