What Is ADHD?

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that can cause inattentiveness, hyperactivity, or impulsivity.  When left untreated, ADHD can interfere with job performance, school success the ability to maintain relationships, and impact family relationships.

While the symptoms of ADHD usually appear during childhood, some people aren’t diagnosed until they’re adults because their symptoms went unnoticed. Similarly, some people find that their ADHD symptoms improve as they age, but never really go away.

Why Choose Owens Mental Health ADHD Services?

No matter which part of Seattle or Washington you live in, Owens Mental Health makes accessing treatment for ADHD easy. In-person and telehealth treatment options give you the freedom and flexibility to meet with a caring, compassionate mental health professional in the office or from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Washington State mandates some in-person appointments for patients taking a controlled substance. We will discuss this during your sessions.

We will carefully review your past medications and reactions and find a medication that will work best for you. Sometimes a few medications have to be tried before we find the best fit.

We will discuss your side effects and see if we can manage them or if we need to try a different medication. A lot of the time side effects go away or get better as time passes and you get used to the medication.
