What is an Anxiety Disorder?

When we talk about anxiety disorders, we’re talking about an umbrella term that describes a group of specific disorders. While each of these disorders is distinct, it’s possible to have multiple types of anxiety disorders:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD): Frequent, excessive, and unrealistic concerns about normal, everyday life, like your health, job, and relationships
  • Agoraphobia: Fear of being overwhelmed or unable to get help when needed
  • Panic disorder: Unexpected panic attacks that aren’t caused by physical conditions or other mental health conditions
  • Phobias: Intense fear or anxiety around something specific. For example, coulrophobia is the fear of clowns.
  • Social anxiety disorder: Intense and ongoing fear of being judged by others

Why Choose Owens Mental Health for Anxiety Treatment?

Telehealth services make accessing treatment easy. You can connect with a licensed, caring provider no matter where you or they are. Every session can take place from the comfort and privacy of your home or anywhere that’s convenient for you, instead of having to commute to and from your provider’s office.

What’s more, research indicates that telehealth for anxiety can be just as effective as in-person anxiety treatment, ensuring you’ll receive high-quality care for your anxiety disorder whenever you need it.

Note

Washington State mandates some in-person appointments for patients taking a controlled substance. We will discuss this during your sessions.

Whether this is your first time seeking treatment for anxiety or you’re looking for a new provider, Owens Mental Health will take the time to understand your needs and create a personalized treatment plan that addresses your concerns.

There’s no cure for anxiety disorders, so anxiety treatment focuses on managing symptoms. We will:

  • Discuss your symptoms and collaborate with you to create a treatment plan that will help you achieve your goals
