ABOUT ME
I decided to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I felt like I could make a difference in people’s mental health. I spent over ten years in medical surgical nursing caring for patients at the bedside. Some of my patients were suffering from mental health issues on top of their medical problems and I could see how much suffering they had and how much more difficult their recovery was. I found that I could connect with these patients and took a special interest in working with them. By developing a strong therapeutic relationship with these patients I could make their hospital stay easier.
My clients will find that I strive for this same strong therapeutic relationship with them. In my over 20 years of nursing practice I have found this makes a huge difference. I want my clients to feel comfortable with coming to me with their issues knowing it is a safe place. I approach my client’s mental health with an open outlook and fresh set of eyes to be able to pinpoint what the specific issues are. I look at different aspects of my client’s health when making a diagnosis to make sure we have not missed anything. My medical and psychiatric nursing experience helps me put things into perspective and I make referrals when necessary to make sure your health is covered. I am honored to be able to provide quality care to all that I serve.

Certain medical conditions can also affect the severity of your symptoms.
Carefully reviewing your medical history, medications and supplements, lifestyle, diet, and other factors will give us a clear idea of all factors affecting your mental health.
Medication Management Solutions as Unique as You
I understand that everyone is different and will create a psychiatric medication management plan tailored to your unique needs. My thorough approach to medication management involves carefully evaluating your physical and mental health before changing or adding psychiatric meds. In some cases, this will include ordering lab tests to pinpoint underlying medical conditions possibly contributing to your mental health.
